Tm Gratkowski ’s studio in Los Angeles is on the Vasari 21 homepage for the next couple of weeks, and the new Facebook cover is a detail from his huge collage titled “At Some Point I Stopped Participating in the Peaceful Moments of Life” (2020), paper, 52 by 52 inches. “The recent work I've been making is really searching for something new, both in subject matter and in the process of making,” he writes. “On one level most of the work I've been thinking about is very personal and at times more about the inherent vulnerability of sharing things publicly. I have also been focusing on work that is humbler in its statements, with a subject matter about humanity rather than my usual cultural-political work.
